The two were a prominent 19th-century photography partnership in one of the earliest Los Angeles studios. In the 1870s and 1880s, their studio captured historical images of early Southern Californians, local pioneer families, and regional figures. Valentin Wolfenstein (19 April 1845 \u2013 3 February 1909) was a Swedish-American photographer who worked both in Stockholm and Los Angeles, California. He was one of the first photographers to use flash-lamps for photography. After returning to Sweden, Wolfenstein owned Atelier Jaeger, the official court photographer&#8217;s studio in Stockholm, from 1890 to 1905. We haven\u2019t found much history on Raimundo Rodrigo other than his partnership with Wolfenstein. This dramatic image captures a confident gentleman in profile. He wears a fashionable suit and is supporting a cool Van Dyke style beard. This glossy image is in excellent minus condition with strong tones and contrast.
