A. Walker Sept 1863\u201d below. We found a few famous William Walker\u2019s during this time period. One was William Aiken Walker who was an American painter. Another was William \u201cSinging Billy\u201d Walker, who was known for hymn tunes and wrote a tune book entitled, <em>Southern Harmony<\/em>. Supposedly by 1866, 600,000 copies had been sold. Unfortunately, none of these photos match the person in this image but maybe there is another connection we aren\u2019t aware of to the performer. Possibly a fun research project for someone.
