Appealing sixth-plate daguerreotype of a loving couple holding hands. The husband is a handsome man with a full head of thick wavy hair. His wife is slightly plain in appearance, but has a very interesting face. We would love to know her ethnicity. Could she possibly be part Native American? The image is in excellent condition with nice tonal qualities and contrast. There is light hand tinting to the sitters’ faces. The image has a band of perimeter tarnish and a couple of small spots. It had old seals fully intact and has now been resealed with a new glass. It is housed in a full leather case.
