Fabulous sixth-plate daguerreotype of two adorable girls in the most touching and delightful pose. The slightly older sibling sits in a small chair clutching her sister’s hand. The younger girl leans gracefully towards her older sister, their heads resting together. Both are wide-eyed and have the most pleasing demeanor. This is a very sharp and detailed plate with wonderful tones and contrast. It is in excellent condition with light tinting to the girls’ cheeks and lips. There is a hint of perimeter tarnish and a couple of small spots on the bottom. The image has been resealed with a new glass and is housed in a full leather case.
