Sharp sixth-plate daguerreotype of a somewhat weathered-looking gentleman dressed in a heavy overcoat. The shell buttons on his jacket are quite large and, judging from his simple dress, he is most likely a laborer or tradesman. The image has great tones and contrast along with a nice ring of perimeter tarnish. Old seals were attached on two sides; the image has been resealed with new glass. It is in excellent condition, in a full leather case.
