Charming pair of sixth-plate daguerreotypes of twins. Under close examination, especially the ears, the children show slight differences, confirming the conclusion that these images are of two distinct children. Both infants exhibit delightful hand tinting throughout. There are very nice flesh tones on the faces and hands, with red and blue tinting to the throws draped over the chairs. The dress on the child on the left has been tinted white while that of the one on the right is more of a cream color. Both images have been resealed and have lovely tarnish rings. The left daguerreotype is very sharp while there was slight movement by the child on the right. Both images are in excellent condition and are presented in thermoplastic case, Flowers in Fancy Vase 2, B2-46 which is in very good condition.
