Clear sixth-plate daguerreotype of a nice looking young man who appears to be contemplating his daguerreian experience. His slight glance towards the photographer gives the impression of uncertainty and quite possibly a lack of trust. This is a sharp image, in excellent condition with a few very small spots and a thin line of perimeter tarnish. At an angle there is one extremely small line above the left shoulder that must have happened during the plate preparation as original seals were attached when purchased. The image has been resealed with new glass and is housed in black-lacquered mother-of-pearl case with a floral design. The spine has been repaired with pneumatic leather.
