Beautiful sixth-plate vignette daguerreotype of two attractive young women. The women obviously have similar fashion sense, as exhibited by the hairstyles and outfits. An added bonus to this beautiful piece is that, unlike most portraits, they both also exhibit small grins. The image has a wonderful white creamy backdrop and a thin band of perimeter tarnish. There are some small scattered tarnish spots and at an angle and under magnification we see some extremely small pit marks on the woman to the left. These are located on the right side of her face and her dress and are not a distraction in our opinion. The image has been resealed with new glass and resides in half of a paper mache case.
