Delightful sixth-plate ambrotype of a very unhappy little girl. She nervously plays with the ribbons draped from her hat, which is delicately balanced on the left corner of the chair. The little chubby-cheeked kid is dressed in an off-the-shoulders dress which reveals a stray slip strap peeking out on the left side. She wears a wonderful large, gold-gilded photo brooch of her father. Light tinting is seen on her cheeks. A note behind the image identifies her as Laura Davis, Grandpa Adams sister’s child. It is in very good condition and someone has applied a new black backing. It is housed in a full paper mache case.
