Fun, large-mounted tintype of eight men on mules, with another man standing on the far left. The large man in the middle is seen shaking hands with his smaller partner. We can only imagine what is taking place in this hilarious scene! A number of buildings are seen in the background and the one in the center displays a small poster that advertises beer. Some patrons are partially visible in the building on the bottom level. While unidentified, this was likely photographed out west as mule travel was much more common in that area. The image is in very good condition with nice tones and contrast. There is some light typical surface wear seen mostly at an angle. The image without the mount measures 3 ½” x 5” and the mount is 4 1/4 ” x 6 3/8”. The paper mount has a few creases and tears.
