Tender sixth-plate horizontal daguerreotype of a brother and sister. We love the sweet nature of the boy extending his arm around his shy sister for support. He displays a sense of panache with his thumb tucked into his lapel while sporting what is a weird patterned vest that has the appearance of being made by mom. That doesn’t affect his confidence one bit though! His sister is tense with her hands crossed on her lap and she seems apprehensive of the whole process. While her dress is simple her long drop earrings are divine with a most unusual design. The plate is in very good condition with bright tones and contrast with some light tinting to their cheeks. At an angle you can see some very light original buffing lines. The image had old seals and we have resealed it with a new glass. It is housed in half of a case. This one will bring a smile to your face!
