Exciting sixth-plate tintype of two characters. While our first thought was wheelwrights posed leaning on a large wagon wheel, we actually think these two are travelers from either a circus or some type of entertainment business. The guy on the right is certainly a showman as he exudes confidence and cockiness. His partner in the black striped work shirt is definitely the manager and/or enforcer. There is a multiple colored striped building in the background that screams entertainment or sideshow. Multiple rows of thin wood planks that might be used for bleacher type seating are also seen. We have a feeling this was home base and the storage area during the winter months. This is a great image with strong tones and contrast. There appears to be a mat mark from the past but this is how it arrived and we do prefer the full view. It is housed in half of a case.
