Vibrant boudoir cabinet card of what appears to be the main street of the town. We have yet identified the city but with a little research it should be possible from the combined signage. Front and center we see a fantastic ad for Genuine Farris Good Sense Waists Bee Hive Store AGT. The Farris Company located at 341 Broadway NY was known for their women’s corsets. They advertised them not only for Ladies and Misses but also for children! The sign just below this points to the right and reads Second Street. On the right side in front is an arch in a patriotic theme of stars that is the entrance to a park. Behind it is a line of small flags. Continuing on the right side next to the horse and wagon we see three African-American men getting water from a fountain. One is carrying a sack of product on his shoulder. Behind them on the first building we see is a sign for QT. Saloon, Milwaukee Beer. Above in the same building is Valley Abstract. Across the street we see a Peoples Market along with W.L Douglas Shoes. There are other visible signs including one on the back of the streetcar. Unfortunately it is blurry from the movement although we can see a long name that someone might decipher followed by the word Park.
This fabulous image is in excellent minus condition with strong rich tones and contrast. There is a lighter area on the top right corner that is original to the negative. The mount has a curve as is typical with this larger format.
