Lot 94

Two gelatin silver prints of an interesting menu, one labeled Court Square in Springfield, MA and the other showing a buffalo with her calf on the back labeled, A Springfield Product. This was a complimentary dinner given by “The Sad-Faced A’s to the Glad-Faced B’s of the Springfield Board of Trade Membership Committee.” This particular menu was for Clarence N. Bacon and it appears it was held at the Nayasset Club.  The photographs were “Compliments of The Harvey & Lewis Co., Opticians and Art Photo Co Commercial Photographers, Members of the Springfield Board of Trade.” Inside is a witty celebratory writing along with the full menu. This is an unusual piece and it very good condition, dated May 12, 1915. It is on double weight photo paper and measures approximately 3 ¾’ x 5 ¾”.
