Outstanding hanging daguerreotype pendant of a girl. Obviously cherished by her mother or grandmother what elevates this piece of jewelry is the family added what appears to be a jade stone on the back. As seen in the photo this is located where the normal small viewing window housed a locket of hair or possible even a small daguerreotype. Seen with a serious expression she wears a white bonnet with a lovely floral bow and gorgeous long drop gold gilded earrings. The plate has great tones and contrast and the line on the right is a light scratch on the glass. There are some spots on the plate but some are on the back of the glass. There is a slight nick on the rim of the beveled glass on the inside perimeter. Besides the beautiful vibrant stone there is a wonderful pattern in the gold on the back. From the top of the loop to the bottom it measures 2 ½” with the width being 1 ½”.  $250.00
