Exquisite small hanging jeweled daguerreian locket with a swivel mechanism. The outside cover is an amber colored stone or glass that flips open to reveal a lovely daguerreotype of an attractive young woman with large beautiful eyes. Her hair has been styled up and she wears a pair of earrings. The back is gold with a decorative border in-between. Even the looped top is stylish in design. The daguerreotype’s dimensions would be approximately ¾ of an inch with the locket and loop being approximately 1 7/8 inch. The daguerreotype has some light tarnish and at an angle there is a hint of some fine lines. We assume this happened during the process or placement as this would be extremely difficult to remove once it was set.
