Lovely sixth-plate daguerreotype of a young woman with thick beautiful dark hair beautifully styled in a bun. She wears a black dress with a white lace collar that has a gold tinted pin. Her black ribbon necklace also has a gold bar pin and she is sporting gold drop earrings. The plate is in very good plus condition with nice tones and contrast with some tint to her face. There is a pencil inscription with the date 1856 in the back; the rest of the inscription is barely legible other than NYas seen in the scan. We have resealed the image with a new glass and it is in half of a case.
