Outstanding late 1840’s quarter-plate daguerreotype of a cool young gentleman casually posed which adds a wonderful dimensional quality to this image. Certainly a man of style and means he is sporting a fabulous pair of striped pants with a patterned vest and a cutting edge pleated shirt. He leans on a blue tinted tablecloth that has a stack of books indicating a well-educated man. The image is in very good condition with some interesting natural flesh tones on his hand. It was unsealed and the plate moved over time leaving some perimeter mat marks. There are also some small spots as seen. This is housed in a full later 1850’s case. We have left it in the case as we didn’t have an empty 1840’s one available.
