Lot 32
Dynamite sixth-plate ambrotype of a young gold miner or possibly a fireman. We suspect the former but there is a hint of a design on his belt buckle that may help solve this mystery. We have provided a scan if anyone has any thoughts. One thing we can say for sure is this handsome young man is well built with a tiny waistline suggesting he is in tip-top shape. He is proudly posed with a serious look on his face. His pink tinted shirt is vibrant and under close examination it shows some thread barren wear at the cuff demonstrating the hard work he endures. The image is in very good plus condition with strong tones and contrast with some tint to his face. There are a couple tiny spots as seen. It is housed in half of a case.
