Sweet sixth-plate English ambrotype of a young military man or worker posed with his girlfriend or fiancé. He seems to be the happiest guy in the world with his arm around his sweetie. She on the other hand seems apprehensive about her day in the studio and leans close to him for security. She holds a small, gilded box or case in her hand. His hat has an emblem, but it is not legible as the gold-gilded band blocks it. His tie has been tinted a lovely blue. The presentation is very nice with a mat inset in a paper presentation with a preserver present. The total package measures approximately 4 ½” x 5.” It is a very sharp bright ambrotype with strong tones and contrast. There are some small scattered spots mostly on the bottom as seen.
