Fun pair of cdv tintypes of readers. The two young women are having a good time as one sits on the other’s lap reading one page of a letter while the other page is on her lap. Her friend had to peek at the photographer for her portrait or this would have been perfectly staged. It has a scratched date at the top that reads Dec 1881. It is in very good condition with nice tones. It has soft focus and at an angle you can see the top coat lacquer is shiny in spots. The boys are in a more traditional pose and all play their parts with interest. The image has nice tones and contrast with quite a bit of wear as seen.
