Exceptionally rare, small format, (1 ¾” x 3”), montage cdv advertising Barker’s Photographs, 1860 Eureka Springs Arkansas.  On the far right we see Barker’s portrait displayed on a cabinet card with View Artist, Eureka Springs, Ark., directly below. In the center we see his studio decked out with numerous views of his photographs. In a brilliant advertising move he has posed a cute young boy with his black dog casually hanging outside the studio; possibly this is Barker’s son or a young assistant. There is a large ad partially visible on the side of the building where we can read “At the Springs, of the City.”  On the left side of the photo we see examples of his outdoor views -many appear to be around the Springs but one is certainly of the famous Crescent Hotel. This is a great image that is in excellent minus condition just a hint light in tonal qualities on the right as seen. It is on a little heavier mount which is perfect for an image this size. Southern studio scenes and especially those from Arkansas are rarely seen so don’t miss out on this one!
