Great mounted albumen photograph of a medical class of thirteen young men. They most likely attended Washington/Jefferson College in Pennsylvania which was originally founded in the 1780’s by three frontier clergymen. The students surround a table filled with test tubes and other experimental equipment along with some mortar and pestles. There is a pencil identification on the back that reads “John W. Moore at Med School 1st row right.” The previous owner stated that Moore was later a resident of Bloomington, IL. The image measures 8” x 10” and has decent tones and contrast. There is some wear and spots as seen with two holes top and bottom where it hung on a wall in the past. By Rogers, Washington, PA. This was most likely Samuel Rogers who was listed in Washington in the 1880’s.
