Fun mounted albumen of two actors recreating a scene from their theatre performance. This was captured by the Pach Brothers who operated in NYC from the 1860’s. The 841 Broadway address would place this in the years 1877-1890. There is a wonderful long history about this photographic family on multiple sites as they photographed everyone from students to the famous. There is a pencil note on the back of this image that reads “hypnotist.” The man with the bald skullcap certainly appears in a trance and the man with the fake mustache is definitely in control of the scene. Now we’re not sure why the cleaning lady is partially visible, sitting in a chair with her broom on the far-right side! If anyone recognizes either of these two actors or entertainers the information would be appreciated. The image is in very good minus condition with decent tones and contrast. It has been pinned to the wall at one time as seen by the two holes. It measures 8” x 10” with the mount, which has a curve.
