Vibrant sixth-plate daguerreotype of a disheveled gentleman who has a “mad scientist” look to him! Part of this is accomplished by the daguerreotypist who has put pinprick size tinting to his pupils. If you catch it at certain angle it instills that creepy/scary vibe. His hair also adds to this effect as it seems to have a mind of its own. The plate is in excellent minus condition with strong tones and contrast along with some pleasant light tinting to his face. It had old seals intact and we have resealed it with a new glass. It is housed in a full case.
