Fabulous close-up sixth-plate daguerreotype of a gentleman. This striking image illustrates exactly what we like to see in a daguerreotype: extreme detail and wonderful visual qualities. The plate is in very good plus condition with excellent tones and contrast with a light hue to his face and lips. There are a few spots and the top of the thinner mat has a slight ding as seen indicating there might be one under the mat. It had a reseal with what appears to be new glass and it is housed in a full case.
