Lot 16

Fabulous sixth-plate daguerreotype of a confident young lad in a very relaxed pose with his arm resting on the table. We have a feeling he is an old pro at this photography stuff! He is perfectly styled in a long slender black jacket with a cute tie. The plate is in very good condition with strong tones and contrast. There are a few small spots, and it appears that the plate has been cleaned in the past. There are some light typical buffing lines seen at an angle. The image has been resealed in the past with what appears to be new glass and is housed in a full case. The following lot contains his brother’s image – they were purchased together.
