Cute sixth-plate daguerreotype of an apprehensive girl glaring at the photographer with a slight sense of distrust! She is wearing a great plaid dress that perfectly illustrates the wonders of Daguerreian dimension.  Wearing a pair of cream-colored gloves, she holds what appears to be another pair of white gloves. The image has great contrast and tonal qualities. It has been cleaned in the past and there are some spots remaining that might be removed with professional conservation, but this one still shines brightly.  It has been resealed with new glass and it is housed in half of a case.
