Delightful quarter-plate daguerreotype of a wide-eyed refined young gentleman. The look of amazement on his face is priceless, but he does throw in a tough guy twist of his lip! He has a perfectly fitted formal double-breasted jacket with a stylish intricately looped tie. The flesh tones on his entire face and hands are expertly accomplished which is not seen on many American daguerreotypes. The plate is in excellent minus condition with a few spots as seen. We have resealed it with a new glass and it is housed in half of a case.
